WORK FROM CAPSULE
Digital Nomad Hostel in Jerusalem
Hosting nomads from 47 countries since 2023.
The capsule pod doubles as your office — 220 Mbps fiber, 24/7 lounge, UTC+2/+3 the sweet spot for EU mornings + US-East afternoons. From $30/night on weekly rates. Stay a week, extend to a season.
Cost of living
A quarter of New York. Half of Tel Aviv. Less than Lisbon.
All-in monthly cost for a remote worker (rent + food + transit, similar lifestyle):
| City | Monthly all-in |
|---|---|
| New York (private studio) | ~$3,500 |
| Tel Aviv (private studio) | ~$2,400 |
| Lisbon (private studio) | ~$1,800 |
| Capsule BH Jerusalem | ~$900 |
Stay (~$40/night × 30 with weekly+monthly discount) + food (shuk lunch ~$7, dinner ~$10) + transit (~$4/day Light Rail) — about $30/day all-in. Sources: Nomad List 2026 + our own pricing.
Time zone math
The killer feature most nomads miss.
Jerusalem sits at UTC+2 (winter) / UTC+3 (summer) — the sweet spot. Your morning standup with Berlin lands at 11:00 your time. Your client in New York is awake by 16:00 your time.
| City | Their meeting time | Your local time |
|---|---|---|
| London | 10:00 BST | 12:00 IDT |
| Berlin | 10:00 CEST | 11:00 IDT |
| New York | 09:00 EDT | 16:00 IDT |
| Los Angeles | 09:00 PDT | 19:00 IDT |
What you actually get
The setup, in detail.
200 Mbps fiber Wi-Fi everywhere
Tested at 220+ down, 180+ up. Same speed in your capsule, the lounge, the bar, the bathrooms. No throttling, no signup walls, no time limits. We pay for business-grade fiber because guests work here.
USB-A + USB-C inside every capsule
Two USB ports per pod. Charge your laptop, phone, headphones, and Kindle without unplugging anything. Bedside reading light. Climate-controlled vent.
24/7 lounge with plugs at every couch
Six couches, two long tables, plugs everywhere. Empty between 09:00–17:00 most days (guests are out exploring). Coffee from the bar from ~$4. Ambient music or your own headphones — your call.
Real humans on shift, day and night
Reception is staffed 24/7 in EN + HE. Need a printer? Lost a passport? Question about visa? We've answered it before.

Visa basics
90 days, visa-free, for most.
Israel offers visa-free 90-day stays for US, EU, UK, Canada, Australian, Japanese, South Korean, and ~70 other passport holders. There's no formal digital nomad visa yet. Most nomads do 60–90 day stints, then exit to Cyprus, Greece, or Jordan and return. Tax-wise: stay under 183 days/year and you're not a tax resident.
Practical questions, fast answers
What's the actual Wi-Fi speed?
Tested at 220 Mbps down, 180 Mbps up. Symmetrical-ish. Backup hotspot available at reception if our line ever drops (it hasn't in 18 months, but we keep it ready).
Can I take video calls in the capsule?
Yes. The capsule walls are sound-dampened — fine for casual calls. For a high-stakes presentation, ask reception about the conference room (free for guests, 4-person max, book ahead).
How does Shabbat affect my workflow?
Inside Capsule BH: lounge, Wi-Fi, kitchen, and bar run 24/7 — Shabbat changes nothing for you here. Outside: Light Rail pauses Friday sundown until ~1.5 hours after sundown Saturday, and many shops close. We're walking distance to everything you'd need (Old City, market, restaurants that stay open) — most nomads love the slower pace.
Do you have a coworking partnership?
Walk-in deals at Mindspace Mamilla (~$22/day, 8 min walk) and WeWork Jaffa Center (~$24/day, 5 min walk). Mention you're at Capsule BH at the desk for a small discount.
Can I receive packages?
Yes. Address packages to: Capsule BH, 31 Jaffa Street, Jerusalem 9422431, c/o [your name]. We'll WhatsApp you when it arrives.
What's the longest someone has stayed?
Three months. He paid the monthly rate, took the corner Single Capsule (best Wi-Fi signal), used the conference room for client calls, and ate breakfast at our place every day. 10/10 would host again.
Is it quiet enough at night?
Quiet hours are enforced 22:00–08:00. We're a residential building, not a party hostel. Most guests are travelers, nomads, and budget travelers — not 19-year-olds chasing a hangover.
